Position Overview

The successful Digital Merchandising Associate will help optimize Global Industrial’s online merchandising by having a detail-oriented approach and a genuine interest in understanding what drives customers to buy.  They support the Digital Merchandising team to execute merchandising plans to drive sales and conversion across product categories that align with overall product and marketing strategies.  They will help make customer-facing decisions about how to merchandise products, apply appropriate corporate-wide standards to optimize website performance to support a cohesive customer journey on site and through marketing channels and will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Product Operations, Copy and Marketing teams to collaboratively execute merchandising improvements on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute digital merchandising strategies through category experience enhancements, product placement and digital assets to directly drive sales, traffic and conversion
  • Ensure customer experience is seamless throughout the journey by consistently reviewing and optimizing product experience, including product pages, category landing pages, cross-sells, search keywords, navigational elements, product sequencing and more
  • Innovate improved on-site capabilities to improve the user experience and product findability
  • Benchmark competitively to propose recommendations for a best in class customer experience on site
  • Work cross-functionally to maintain a solid understanding of brand priorities and ever-changing product assortment to deliver appropriate representation on-site throughout browse and search exposures
  • Support consistent product data management including attributes, product detail strategies and product rollups
  • Analyze site metrics, customer feedback and other related data to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, reduce user friction and drive revenue growth across product categories
  • Troubleshoot issues related to site assets, navigation, category experience and product data
  • Deliver comprehensive on-site experiences to support marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Assist in execution of digital marketing activity for email, homepage, landing page to support marketing and merchandise initiatives, including new product launches

Competencies and skills

•    Bachelor's degree in related field
•    Minimum of 2 to 4 years of on-line merchandising experience
•    Demonstrated experience establishing and streamlining site merchandising processes
•    Ability to make data-driven recommendations to improve site experience
•    Ability to adapt in a fast pace collaborative environment
•    Strong analytical and communication skills
•    Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail
•    Self-motivated, resourceful with a creative mindset
•    Content Management System (CMS) experience required
•    Experience with Google Analytics and Power BI preferred
